What’s hot
Contra Costa Times, Nov 10, 2005
A shoe or not a shoe? The first time I spotted crocs was at a marina in Hawaii. I called them “boat shoes.” When I got back to the mainland, I grabbed myself a pair and discovered that they are a big hit in states surrounding Colorado, where they were born. They are found all over the nation. Although they haven’t drastically caught on in California yet, they are making appearances in stores everywhere. The shoes are comfort itself. Some might call them ugly, but I like any shoe I don’t have to wear socks with. A convenient rubber strap lets you wear the slip-ons two ways: strap up or strap down. They are made of lightweight rubber and come in an array of trendy colors.
Be careful where you wear them, they might get odd nicknames like “duck shoes” (especially light yellow), “sponge shoes” or just “gross.”
